With one of our experienced guides, you will learn how the land on which Kanny Goopna is located has changed over time and about the significance of the Koorie country dreaming to the local Yorta Yorta people. You will gain a deeper and more meaningful understanding of this incredible location; an important gathering place for the Yorta Yorta Nation and one of rural Victoria most popular meeting hubs. Aboriginal Educational Workshop in Mooroopna Learn about the unique art forms of the local people and travel into a fascinating world of indigenous cultural beliefs during this enchanting workshop Check Availability Duration =1 Hr 30 Min Start & End Time= 5.30pm to 7.00pm Max Group Size= 6 Minimum Age =10+ Languages=English - Wiragjuri Location = Mooroopna What's Classes do we teach: : Art Class Fun introduction to Aboriginal culture and beliefs Learn about ancient symbols used in Aboriginal art and teachings Take home an amazing dot painting of your own story : Lanuage Class Learn Wiragiuri and add the words you know in you own language. With a dreams story learn words from the story line. : Food Gathering Learn about the seasons. When and when not to gather food. How to identify food and make a fun Bush Tukka ice cream and cone. : Fire Making Learning how to make a fire and the right of passage to make in a sacred fire for ceremony. Using a 40,000 year old Aboriginal Blessing. Undering the different tools and leaves to use for corroborees, birthing celebration, and death. : Corroboree Dance We teach 5 traditional dances. The clearing dance to rid the area of evil spirits, the The Dagon Fly dance, The Creation Dance, The Wedge Tail Eagle Dance, The Shark Dance. These dances to my people the Batdjala people who live in Norther coast of Queensland, Australian near Kg'ari (Fraser Island).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy Missed Experience Policy Our goal is to provide quality activities to all our guests in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience not only our providers, but our other clients as well. Please be aware of our policy regarding missed appointments. Cancellation When you book with us, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other guests. In order to be respectful of others, please call Avalon Karatau 48 hours before the experience stars. That you will not be able to make the experience. If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 48 hours in advance. Experiences are in high demand, and your advanced notice will allow another guests to attend. How to Cancel Your Experience If you need to cancel your experience, please call us at 0402606481 between the hours of 5pm - 9pm. If necessary, you may leave a detailed voicemail message. We will return your call as soon as possible. Late Cancellations/No-Shows A cancellation is considered late when the experiences we do is cancelled less than 48 hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a guest misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, we will charge the guest the total price of the booked experience missed fee. Please note, we do not offer refunds. However, if you give us at least 48 hours notice of your need to cancel, we will credit your payment toward another Event/Class. However, if you do not cancel with at least 48 hours notice, you will lose any payments you have already made.
